I also don't like the looks of the new Camaro - BUT, for some unknown reason I don't find it quite as "ugly" as I did a year ago. Still not ready to buy one.

I do like the looks of the version Ted posted.

But again, if I had 100k for a new car I would absolutely love to have a Tesla. With a few extra $Ks I would get the Sport version. Talk about driving the latest Techno toy! Doesn't have that deep engine/exhaust sound but the acceleration has got to be thrilling. Just imagine - sitting at a stop light with a gas guzzling Corvette, Porshe, Ferrari, what have you, next to you and three seconds later the only place you are going to see that car is in your review mirror - (nearly) Priceless.

In the mean time I'll just have to "settle" for driving the '62 on nice winter days in So. Cal.

I'm with Ted, Don & Pat.
I prefer real "Styling"
The recent GM "Star Wars" motif looks grotesque at best.
Could have contrbuting to their current dilemma.

Come on guys, at least wellborn and Tom peters are trying. This has got to be one of the best looking styling corvettes in a long time that car is sexier than all get out.

Looks wicked - I like it. But I can't see them bringing back the split window, I don't think you will see any better out of one in 2013 than you did in 1963. Still, it would be the 50th anniversery of a styling icon.

I'm not trying to slam anyone but with designs like this it is no wonder GM is loosing market share.

I realize my tastes are probably different than most but I'll take a Tesla Sport over this anyday - and the Tesla Sport probably accelerates faster.

You are not the only one. I don't find it appealing at all.

I also agree that the GM designers are missing the target. I said that a while ago when we first started seeing the new Camaro. I just don't get it, and I have raced and owned Camaros for years.

As for the pictures Ted posted, one is saved as my desktop. I love the C3 look updated to a 2010 design.

Somewhere I have a link to the pictures Ted posted. I hunt for it and post it.

As Always, Good Design Has To Have Balance And Be Pleasing To The Eye.the Classics Of The 30's Have It. So Many Of The Cars Of The Late 60's To Very Early 70's Are Still ,in My Opinion, Better Overall Designs Than A Lot Of What Is Being Produced Today. Good Art Has Staying Power. The Popularity Of The Retro Look Today ,i Think, Proves My Point.

What I can't stand about the new world economy Tarp, Bailouts, Stimulus bills etc is fears of performance and luxury.... All these corporations are so affraid of offending the lowest common denominator. Look at the last line of this caption:

"General Motors used the Chicago Auto Show to introduce the world to its latest concept vehicle, the Corvette Stingray, which will be featured in the upcoming Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen movie on June 26th. According to GM, the vehicle is nothing more than a styling buck that was influenced by the original 1959 Stingray racer"

As if it would be bad if it were an actual car. Oh no we only build practical safe earth friendly cars this is just a styling buck.. We would never build it.

Better buy your Muscle cars now. Welcome to 1974 all over again...

The stylists can't get the split window out of their mind. It mesmerizes them.

The "split column" looks like more of an obstruction here than on the '63.
