Re: Who has 1 of ? numbers?
You can't. No records were kept of the thousands of permutations/combinations of colors, trims, and options; all we know is the individual totals. Anyone who says their Corvette is a "1 of X" is guessing.- Top

Re: Who has 1 of ? numbers?
It's TRUE!!! Your Corvette IS unique!!!
It's the only one built with that particular VIN tag...
Why does this nonesense of 'how many' continue? The fact that the VIN tag is unique ought to curb the fervor for documenting relative 'rarity' based on configuration particulars...- Top

Eric-----
Whenever you see those sort of "1 of XX" applying to COMBINATIONS of options/colors/interiors, they always represent someone's ESTIMATE. Very often, you see these "1 of XX" applying to color/interior combinations, especially for relatively rare interiors. There's no way that anyone could know what the actual numbers produced were of even a simple thing like the combination of color and interior. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Who has 1 of ? numbers?
I wish these numbers were available. I think I have a rare car.......But so does everyone else.My 66 is Laguna Blue with Dark Blue Headrest Int, P/S, P/B, A/C, Tele, Teak, P/W, so, is it rare? Maybe, How rare, we'll never know. I know it's one of just a few cars on my block that doesn't have a payment book! That's rare.

Re: Who has 1 of ? numbers?
I think my 1970 corvette, #9, is the earliest/oldest 1970 corvette that is owned by a ncrs member today. Am I correct?,I do welcome other older and newer 1970 and all year corvette owners to become a ncrs member and share the fun, sure has been a great time for me!!

Re: Who has 1 of ? numbers?
Sorry Steve. 1970 #6 belongs to an NCRS member -- or at least it did when I saw it last 2 or 3 years ago at the Florida Regional. Of course if your #9 is driveable you might be ahead of that one.
Last time I saw 1970 #4 the owner was not an NCRS member, but the car was under restoration. That was more like 5 or 10 years ago, so a lot could have changed since then.Terry- Top

Re: Who has 1 of ? numbers?
Terry, #9 definately runs quite well, as long as I use park brake since calipers are being restored. I looked at ncrs membership list and did not see #6 listed as a member, maybe membership deactivated and/or sold car. Do you know who has first 70' a/c option corvette produced ?, #9 does. I'm still fishing. Steve- Top

Re: Who has 1 of ? numbers?
When I saw it #6 was missing engine and transmission, but there is some evidence it was an LT1, and it may have been the Corvette News Ontario Orange first Power Steering LT1.
#4 is a Maroon/Saddle convertible. I can't remember the options, beyond a 300 HP engine. I will have to dig up my notes from 1995 when I first saw it. I know I took photos, but those are pre-digital and you will have to pester my wife after my passing for those. Good Luck.
I have an anecdotal story of #1 being sold at a dealer in southern Michigan when new. No report of those options, though, and no reports of the car at all.
The owner of #6 did a lot of digging for earlier cars. Where do you find a list of NCRS members and their cars? I have heard talk of trying to get such data, but privacy concerns have always shot it down.Terry- Top
