Look what came in the mail..Exciting

    Hi all,

For once I have some fantastic news to share with all of you. I mentioned sometime back that I spoke at great length with the three previous owners of my 64 roadster and today I received a packet full of great pictures and a notarized letter from the second owner of my car. I am so thrilled to see the pictures of my car from the late 60's and early 70's and then see a picture from the early 90's when the third owner had it at a local car show in Augusta, GA where both the second and third owner currently live. My picture taking quality isn't the best and I know it's now time for a scanner. Look at the great looking Mickey Thompson wheels on this beauty. I hope all of you enjoy seeing this as much as I did receiving it.

    Enjoy,

    Craig W.

Great shots from back in the day. Always nice to see your car's history in pictures.

Congratulations Craig. I was also lucky enough to get pictures from the first owners of my 70 when my car was new, and it's a feeling that's hard to describe.

Nice pics, how much for the dog? I'm trying to accomplish the same with my previous owners. I feel like a detective trying to find their phone numbers though. Still trying to find them...

Very nice, I know the feeling, the original owner of my car (1967) sent me a picture of the car the day he picked it up along with the owners patch and owners card that are all framed together. This frame still hangs on his wall but has my name and address on the back and his daughter has been instructed to send it to me on his demise. I saw him on TV as he is the step father to David Cook the American Idle. Small world.

Makes me wish I had taken more pictures of mine when it was new and over the years. I have a number of B & W and quite a few on 35mm slides, but they are probably deteriorating in a box in my storage room.

Now that's cool ! I noticed the one is in Columbus. Is that where the car was from ?? Not far from me ! Glad you got them. Nice job tracking them down. Must be a karma payback for sending me that plaque !!

I guess so Tom. My car was originally purchased from Mahlon Maxton Chevrolet in Worthington. The original owner still lives in Columbus. Nice fellow he is.

                    Thanks,
                    Craig

                      Craig,

Great photos! I was lucky enough to get a few pictures from my car's third owner before me and he had taken a couple of them when he went to purchase the car in the previous owner's driveway. That owner had imported the car (to British Columbia) from its delivery state of California and in the photos the California plates are still on it. I'd love to go further back in its history to its California days, but the owner that sent me the photos didn't have any other info on who he bought it from.

What a home run.I was lucky enough to be able to contact the first and second owners of my 67 coupe. the second owner Bobby sent me pictures from 1968 all the way to 1980. It was great to see how he changed from bell bottoms all the way to grand child.

That is awesome! I know the thrill. I have the Protecto-O-Plate for my car. Using that I contacted the original owner. I had several conversations with her, she had many fond memories. I talked to her husband briefly, but he was soon to die of cancer. She also sent me two pictures from back in the day, plus some loan paperwork that showed some of the options. I was on cloud nine for a week, as I'm sure you are. Congrats!

Awesome with the places. I noticed the first picture said Lock Two Rd. New Bremen, Ohio. I live about 3 miles from there. When I saw that picture it brought back a thought, but I think a later post changed that. In 1964, a local Dr. in my town very close to Lock Two Rd., bought a '64 that looks JUST LIKE this one. He is now gone, but his son still lives here. But, your later post said it was bought at a Columbus dealership and the Dr. of course bought it new locally here. The name Kettler is a common name from that location and there is a Kettler Rd. that will intersect Lock Two Rd. Also about 4 miles east of there is a small town called Kettlersville.
