    Back of C2 Cluster photo needed

    I am planning on changing the bulb for the headlight warning light and the e-brake. I've read the archives about how to become a gymnast to make this happen without taking the cluster out.

    What I would really appreciate is a picture (or several) of the back of a C2 cluster so that I can see what I will be "feeling" when I do this job.

    Thanks in advance!
    Rob

    Rob,

    Here are pics from when I refurbed my gauge cluster. Hope this helps.

          Wow! Thanks Harry. This is awesome. How does the socket for the headlight warning and e-brake warning lights snap into/out of position? Do they need to come out to change the bulb or do they stay in to change them?

          Thanks again!

              Take the steering wheel off and the seat out.

                As Keith said, take out the seat and steering wheel.

                As far as changing bulbs, this is old technology. Everything gets changed from the back, unplugged and replugged.

                  Don and Harry;

                  Do you know if there is a difference between the 63-64 clusters and that of the 65-67 with regards to the mounting plates for the small gauges? It appears to me that the mounting surface is dished in (set in) on the 65-67 clusters - probably due to the gauges having flat faces as opposed to the 63-64 gauges which have the dished in or conical faces. Reason I ask about this is that I recently worked on my 63 oil pressure gauge and I recall that the mounting plate surface was flat. It is not easy to see, but I put a wrench on the square fitting end of the gauge while I tightened up the oil line fitting and it was easy to do, whereas it might not be so if the plate surface was dished in (as shown in your pictures).

                    Stu,

                    65-67 small gauge mounting plates are flat with the exception of the oil gauge which is dished in. 63-64 gauge mounting plates are all dished out.
