69 coolant temp wire terminal insulator color

I need to know what the correct color is for the plastic insulator that goes over the terminal at the end of this wire for a 69.

I got a repop wire and teminal to repair mine and I see that the wire is too light of a green compared to my original dark green one. So that got me wondering if the white plastic insulator that came with it should in fact be white or some other color like maybe black?

    What do you all think.

    Greg,

I have a '69 and will take a look this evening if you can send me a pic of where this wire/terminal is located. I'm just not sure where it's at without doing some research.

If this is any help, I have an original 68 and the clip is clear plastic which yellowed with age.

My over 38+ aged pin type temperature connecter on my 70 used to be clear type before it became what it is today. The connecter was never white or black.

Yes thank guys. Actually the "white" one that I have is more of an opague so it's probably close enough.

              Greg----

The 68-70 temp wire connector insulator was neither black, white, or clear. It was something between clear and white---sort of like a "milky clear", opaque sort of appearance. They yellow a bit with age.

Adding on to what Joe and others say, here's a pix of an aged original 'barrel' connector as used in the era to mate with the 'pin head' style temp sender...
