Re: You're not alone
Stu,
A very poignant observation of what most of us have likely experienced at one time or another. But it reminds me of an occasion many years ago when I was one of those young people trying to get an army CO of mine to try something in terms of organizational change. He wasn't much older than me at the time, maybe in his mid-late thirties whereas I was in my mid-twenties, but he observed: "you know, there are no new ideas under the sun...", which I took to mean: "we've already thought of/tried that before and it didn't work".
After a little thought, I retorted: "but there are new times (and circumstances) for old ideas..." He didn't have an answer to that...

Re: You're not alone
Rob,
Thanks very much for the statistics.
Since about 3600 people have registered, that's about 10% daily users.
What's your guess as to the percentage of the approximate 15,000 members that have Internet access regularly?
What's your guess as to the percentage of the approximate 15,000 members that give THE RESTORER a cover to cover read?
What's your guess as to the percentage of the approximate 15,000 members that are a part of judging at least once a year. ( I think I remember that being a part of the Judging Chairman's Message some years ago.)
We seem to be a big group and a little group at the same time!

Re: You're not alone
Allan it depends how far in your sickness is with cars and Corvettes. I think some people that have finished restoring there cars probably don't use this site often because it is a tech site after all. Other reasons are members have lots of other great collectable toys as well and could be doing there homework on them. Thunderbirds, Cobras, Mustangs, Jags, caddy's and Mopars. Most people I speak to on this site have other interesting branded cars. This site is still a great site !!!!! Stewy- Top

Re: You're not alone
This is a great site to learn from regardless if your car is finished restoration, starting your project, or just preservation. The people here are truely masters of the hobby. From time to time I'll jump onto Corvette Forum to browse those discussions, BIG difference. The discussions there are mostly directed at general repair and boosting horsepower. They do get a huge number of users though.- Top
