    62 shocks

I don't plan to have a judged car but a nice riding car. What is the latest recommendation on front and rear shocks and from where?

Check the archives under mine or Joe Lucia's name, this was discussed a number of times. If you can find oil filled shocks they will give you the smoothest ride, as they are similiar to original, but also very hard to find. I believe one set is still available from GM, not sure if it is the front or back, again check archives in the last year, cause I asked Joe that very question, just can't remember answer.
Hopefully someone else will chime in with a maker of oil filled shocks, if not get gas filled but certainly not heavy duty. Try to remember you are dealing with 1949 technology with that suspension. Might also want to check with the early Chevy guys, 49-53.
