Is the heater core removed from the firewall or from inside the car? My resto books don't give any instructions for this.

Jim, can't speak for a 60. But if it's anything like a 66, both in and out. It's a bear. Good Lock, Bill.

Probably should take the entire heater out then take out the heater core.

'Did my '57 from inside, with carpet up and towels down. As a precaution dosconnect the battery. Accidently dropping a wrench and touching the positive posts and grounding really wakes you up.

From the inside, just as Steve indicated. Actually, a pretty easy job, as compared to most, and much easier than with a midyear or C-3.

ALLLLLLLLLL 53-62 heaters are removed from INSIDE the car.
And, as far as heater removal goes, they are among the easiest on the planet to remove.

Removing the seat makes life under the dash much easier.....
