I noticed a new member posted today (Daniel) with # 49903...any guesses when we can expect number 50,000?

Re: Newbies & (50000)
Unless Dick has inside info, membership # 50,000 may have already been purchased, and we on the Board will not be aware until a recent >50K number decides to post. What's the math ? -- only 50 or so members average on line at a time, with ~ 15,000 paid membership ?- Top

They can't be "purchased" until 49 999 is purchased.

Re: Newbies & (50000)
maybe they can auction off old numbers... With 50,000 numbers and 15,000 members NCRS can raise a little coin to improve our position. Some of the legendary numbers can be "retired" but I am sure there are some plain jane numbers below me that I could buy. how bout 777 or 286? Sort of like buying our way into heaven. I know the FCC does that now with Amature Radio licenses. My grandfather was W8EGF now my cousin uses his call letters. THen again I like mine to old to try to remember a new one.
I see I am post 14 on this thread. If anyone wants to buy this post number I will edit it with their message for $10Last edited by Eric J.; February 7, 2009, 11:45 AM.- Top
