    Front center bumper brace

In the process of rebuilding my headlights I thought that I would freshen up everything up front. The pictureis of the shims that were under the front bumper brace. 1. What does the "W" stand for? 2. Did they wrap tape around the shims when they were put on the car? It looks like some type of masking tape.
    Thanks
    Jeff

I feel very confident that the "W" represents the manufacturer's ID. Just who that was I do not know.

These look like the radiator support shims to me.

      Hi Jeff,
Your question about the center brace shims reminded me of an odd shim I found on my 71 . It was between the front of the center brace and the bumper. Kind of rough and 'home-made looking. There appears to be a part# partially visible in the second picture. The 2 little 'additions' are especially strange.
Did you see anything like this shim on your car?
      Regards,
      Alan

Alan, I did not have any shims between the brace and the bumper. Fun stuff isn't it?
