    C2 Knock off wheels

Got some great pictures from Mark and John in answer to my similar post of a couple of days ago. That helped a lot. If I may further impose on someone...can anyone tell me what the equivalent dimension shown in the attached drawing is on an original knock off. Basically I'm looking for the distance from a "spoke" to the inner lip of the wheel. On the repro it is about .4 - .5 cm. Can anyone tell me what this dimension is on a real wheel.

    Thank you very much,

    Bob

Bob -- that dimension is pretty close. Hard to measure; even harder to take a pic while holding the tape, so I can only report that if you were to draw a straight line along the machined surface of a fin; it would intersect the casting at a point about 3mm below the edge of the stainless cone. Or, if you were to measure from the rounded "root" of the fin, up the rough casting, to same part of cone, I'd guess 4 or 5mm. Wheel is from an urestored (well, maybe shined up a bit 20 years ago ) original '66.

Thanks for the quick reply, Wayne. I knew that would be a tough one to measure. Sorry. Thanks for taking the time to do that.

So by your measurement, the inner lip of the wheel is at least .3 to .5 cm high. I assume that there is some "wheel material" under the cone?

Thanks again for helping me out.
