    63 stamp pad examples?

    Hi all,

I'm getting ready to go look at a 340hp June 1963, and was wondering if ppl have examples they could post or mail of engine stamp pads. I want to be ready and know exactly what to look for when I look.

    Thanks in advance!
    Brandon

Hope this helps. It was in my archive. It's for a June 63 fuel car, but the "R" in the engine build is one of the tale tells I look for and this looks real to me, but I'm not a 63 pad expert.

Brandon, my 63 library is a little thin, but I have three 340's in that month I will email.

Brandon. I highly suggest you take an experience friend with you that knows what to look for. Or hire a qualified appraiser. Good luck. John

Here's our 63 coupe 300hp Powerglide for reference. I think it's a good example of the broach marks you want to see......Rich

Here's one with a similar "short leg R" . Taken when I picked up this original fuelie that I purchased in summer of '78. I'm sure I have a closer pic of the stamp pad around somewhere (taken after engine rebuild) that shows much clearer.

That looks to actually be the long leg R?
I think the Fuel cars were different then the 340's during that period?

Jeff, here's another 63 FI pad I found in my library. I guess this is another example of long leg....?

To All: I feel weird sending around photos of engine pads. Is there a particular etiquette here? It feels like I am sending pics of someone's wife around My apologies to anyone offended by this.

You can always block the VIN portion on your photos if you are concerned about posting somebody's pad.
