    1970 Door Switch Thread Size

Does anyone know the diameter and thread count for the door switches? The little plates, on the other side of the fiberglass, into which the switch screws in are stripped out. I removed them, filled the switch holes with my MIG welder, ground them flat, and am now ready to drill and tap the hole, by my new switches haven't yet arrived and the old ones are in the trash. Thanks.

    Tom,
I Beleive Those Were A Pipe Thread And The Switch Had A Slight Taper In Which There Were Almost Self Threading Into The Sheet Metal. Maybe A 1/4 Pipe Thread Tap Will Get You Started.

I should clarify. I'm asking about the rear switches that work the alarm system. Thanks.

        Hi Tom,
I believe the switch is 3/8"x24.
It does look like it has a slight taper as Edward mentioned.
        Regards,

            Try a 1/8 pipe thread.

Why not wait until the new switches arrive and confirm their threads before taking any action?
