      Francis,

You are correct, build date June 7, 1966. The paint code is trophy blue. The AA indicates that it is a St. Louis body.

        Hello Francis,
The paint code number is followed by 2 letters. The GM product car
lines offered 2 tone paint colors. The upper and lower body. The first A is the top color and the second A is the lower. This tells that the same color is used for the upper and lower body.

Francis, Do you have a picture of a two tone factory car? I had never heard of this before and it sounds interesting. What were the color options with this? Was this option only on St Louis cars or could you get it on the AOSmith cars too? What would the trim tag read if it were a two tone car?

              Thanks....David (AKA: Dude)

                Dude,
no ,I have no pics,I only
asked the ques, about the "AA" after the paint code.
I was told it was a way for G.M. to show two tone
colors of their autos @ that time. As you know
CORVETTE 's were not produced in two tone...

                  Francis,

It is s/n 22558, convertible (soft top only), Nassau Blue exterior with blue / white interior, L-72 engine, M21 tranny. I think it originally had a 4.11 rear end, it's now a 3.55. The only option that it has that I know of is the AM / FM radio.

                  What about your 66?

                  Joe

                    Hello David,
Chevrolet used the trim tag on all their cars. For example a Chevelle with two tone paint colors the code would be (2) different letters for (upper)white roof and (lower) different color body.
All the Corvettes had only one paint color use upper and lower.

I think it was 1981 when Corvettes began to appear as two-tone.

                        Hello Terry,
You are correct. I should have been more specific to state of the year Corvette he was asking about.
