    C2 Knock off Wheels

Could someone please post, or email me, a picture of an original knock off wheel without the cone or spinner attached. I'm most interested in the wheel structure that would be hidden under the cone. I'm having a "discussion" with a manufacturer of new repro wheels regarding his cone to wheel fit. He says that the edge of the cone should butt up against the inner edge of the wheel. Kind of an edge to edge fit. I'm trying to tell me that the original design structure of the wheel would not allow that, and that it would force the cone to somewhat shroud the wheel's innner lip. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Thanks for the quick replies, John and Mark. Hopefully this will convince the supplier that he has a problem.

        Thanks again.

Bob -- there's another "cone fit / appearance" issue. At the interface groove between the spinner and the small end of the cone, on originals, the angle changes sharply to horizontal. Whereas, on SOME repros, there's a more gradual radius. This can be seen even when the spinner is mounted. This was discussed some time back (around end of May 2008); link below. One pic shows original '66 opening / lip.
