I'm inexperienced at judging would like to get my hands on some score sheets. This would help me learn the judging points system and use for reference on my 69. I already have the JG and the other Juding manual. Neither has the points distribution and I've spent hours reading this forum(love the new format) and can't find it here.

Re: Judging Score Sheet
Jeff,
If you go to the NCRS home page (home button at the top of TDB page) then hit the 'judging awards' button and scroll down to 'flight award' you will be see a 'download' highlight that will enable you to download the judging sheets. Regards,

Re: Judging Score Sheet
Got it, Thank you Arland,
Now for the trick question. My 69 is unrestord, never judged, and I'm wondering if I should just leave it that way. I've read on the discusion board that the judging sheets for Bowtie are not available for some reason. I've also noted that I would have to go to a regional to see if this car is even worthy of being judged for Bowtie at nationals. Put simply, I'm trying to figure out if this car is worth all the transportation to get it judged. Is it rational for me to use the flight sheets and just answer the questions Y/N for originality to determine the car's Bowtie potential? I'm at a an impass...- Top

Re: Judging Score Sheet
I would do nothing to the car other than light cleaning and have it flight judged at a local chapter event in your area. You would then have have a pretty good idea in what direction you might want to take.- Top

Consider taking the car to Lowe's Speedway in Charlotte. You will have a good time there, and get good feedback about just how original the car is and how to clean it for further judging if that is the course it takes. Be very careful if you decide to do any cleaning because it is all too easy to remove assembly marks. Best course is to leave it alone and let the judges tell you how and what to clean.Terry- Top

Re: Judging Score Sheet
Jeff...
I remember judging a couple of cars over the years for Flight Judging that were being considered for canidates for "Bowtie" Judging.
The team leader mentioned to me that what the Bowtie committee or Master Judges considering the particular car are mostly interested in is the left side of the Judging Sheet or the Originality section and not so much the condition section.
Hope this helps somewhat.Last edited by Peter G.; February 4, 2009, 08:15 PM.Peter Gregory # 4157

Re: Judging Score Sheet
Right, Peter.
Bow-Tie Judging involves Originality only, Condition is not a consideration.
Unless, perhaps, rusted beyond recognition, which would have been pre-determined during the "Bow-Tie Check-off" at the regional level.

I agree with Terry. As an old chapter judging chairman youshould do nothing to the car and take it to Charlotte for flight judging. You will have fun and the judges can give you a warm fuzzy about the originality of your car and whether to pursue the Bowtie.- Top

Thanks Guys, I've learned much from you in just a couple of days. I started a new thread on Bowtie that's gotten pretty lively. Check it out:
