I'm getting ready to install the new (NOS) bushings in the rear strut rods on my 62. Looking for any tips or hints to help it go smoothly. They're a tight fit so I'm wondering if a lubricant is needed or? I assume most just press them in using a large vise or press. Any help appreciated. Rich

Re: C-1 Strut Rod Bushing install
Before I bought my press, I used 2 different deep sockets.
One socket that was just large enough for the bushing to fit into.
The second socket is just barely small enough to pass through the hole in each end of the strut rod.
Then place the end of the strut rod on the large socket and with a hammer and the smaller socket, drive out the old bushing.
Use the smaller socket to install the new bushing.
Now that I have a press, I do it essentially the same way, but with a press.- Top
