Hi Guys;
For those of you who "coaxed" me to take down the rear again on my 1963 to replace the cracked rear cover... Thank You!
I pulled the rear down yesterday and put the original cover back on my original carrier... We re ready to reinstall once I can get my hands on some posi additive.
In the mean time I thought that you guys might get a kick out seeing what I was talking about... regarding the crack and the bad threads. I did contact Muskegon Brake and they will make good on the cover... stand up guys as always.
Three pictures; the crack in the cover with a view of the "threads", a picture of the first bolt I had to muscle in there, and a picture of the original carrier ready to go back in there once I add the lube. Note, the original carrier is on one of those hydraulic motorcycle jacks which works extremely well when taking one of these rears down putting it back up.
Thanks again!!
Joel
