if you have a gap between door post and windshield, you may be able to slide the windshield assembly backwards a bit to narrow the gap. the door post is adjustable--shims may have to be added and previous detrimental bodywork on the door itself may need to be corrected. without actually seeing the door post/windshield gap-osis, its pretty tough to describe a cure. good luck, mike

Mike thanks for your responce I worked on the post all day and I have gotten I side pretty close but the other side is about twice as much as the other I have bolt in side of door all the way forward so I see for some reason thats as far as I can go with post IF I have to move windshield back how much of a slot can I get away with and still look right thanks Mike

What do driver and passenger side gaps measure? Is the weatherstrip installed on the posts? If you have tried to raise and lower the windows how is that fit?

steve I have operated window on pass side seems to work pretty good haven't installed drivers side yet no weatherstrip on either the problem I have is the top of post is good the gap at bottom 3/8 inch pass 1/2 drivers since I haven't seen another 60 I don't know what it shoud look like but if I give top more gap it makes bottom way out I had thougt about maybe shimming winshield post to make gap even top and bottom but I'm not sure I just can't understand why there isn't more adjustment in door post it's like you have to push so much to close gap at bottom it throws the rest off thanks for your help mike

Mike, I spoke with a fellow, non-NCRS type and a Cardinals fan, near here who just sold his '59. His '59 had been hit on the drivers front at some time, but not bad. James said he had a similiar problem and he approached it by first moving the windshield frame back as much as he could, then making certain the top and lower hinges were adjusted as good as possible using shims (his fender was a bit buckled), then he adjusted his door posts with thin washers, starting with 1/16". After shimming he said the windows needed a slight adjustment and worked fine. He couldn't remember what the top and bottom gaps were between the posts and windshield frame. He measured his door gap front and back to determine hinge shimming.

            Good Luck!
