    72 vac hose tee

72 BB, A/C car. Hoping Joe can help again. Looking for plastic tee replacement. AIM shows 3929022. w/s wiper vac hose. Black in color. No luck with finding this piece. doc, Paragon, CF adds. have used enough nail polish, melted plastic to rig it but now is gone. I've seen other tee's in white but not what i needed.

    Re: 72 vac hose tee

    Hi Ken,
I was involved in a discussion about that tee a little while back.
At that time no one in that group knew a source for the exact piece. The closest was Dr. R's, #2771222, the 3 nipples are the right size, BUT, in the wrong configuration. So it would be a FUNCTIONAL replacement at best.
    Regards,
    Alan

The GM #3929022 was discontinued without supercession in June, 1981.

If this tee is 1/4" X 1/4" X 1/4", then you might try a Dorman/Motormite #47114. Ask for that number at your auto parts store and they should be able to order it for you.

thanks joe, would be 1/4 in. across the top (horizontal) part of tee and 1/8 in, vertical part of tee.
As Alan indicted dr rebuild has a tee (2771222) with correct size nipples. but wrong in configuration. My original vac hose doesnt allow enough play to route hose as to use this piece. thanks

In that case, the above-referenced won't work; it's 1/4" size on all legs.

I think that Parts America has it wrong. The Dorman/Motormite #47114 tee is 1/4" X 1/4" X 1/4" and is made of black nylon. I suppose someone could use it, though, for a heater hose tee IF they had 1/4" heater hoses.

Looks like they've got pretty much all of them and cross-indexed by GM part number to make it even easier to find the right one.

Keep in mind, of course, that with respect to configuration there may be differences between these and originals. However, I'll bet that, except for NOS, these are as close to the originals in a NEW piece that one is going to find.

thanks dennis that site has been contacted. They had nothing in the size needed. For others looking, they have a help page with cross reference numbers. Has been helpful for other projects.

You would think that with the 1/8 X 1/8 with the 1/4 on the tee base thats offered ,they would have the 1/4 X 1/4 with a 1/8 tee base, thats what is needed here.

There are also some very "close to original", plastic push-in fasteners that wrap in the wiring harness. Have one in my forward harness attached to the center header reinforcement. Wrapped in harness tape I doubt anyone could tell the difference

May of found a source for fittings and tee's. eldonjames.com

They have tee reductions 1/4 in body with 1/8 in leg. But only sell to distributors, manufacturers, universitys. My son is at Caly Poly Tech for engineering and he's going to ask his professors to inquire about some samples.

                              Hi Dennis,
I read with pleasure you note about the harness clip. I spent a good while looking and then realized a modified part would be hidden by the harness wrap and the header itself.
A small 'yes' among a long string of 'oh, no'.
                              Regards,
