    LS4 PCV Plastic "T"

Last week while moving my '73 out of the trailer to a repair shop... the black plastic "T" that is just above the PCV valve broke.

It fits into the valve cover on the drivers side of the engine. It is black plastic large hole on front (towards front of engine compartment) small hole on back (towards back of engine compartment) and largest hole to rubber hose to connec to PCV valve.

I was in Kississmee last week and looked everywhere for this part, but with no sucess. Some vendors said I should be able to find at any auto parts store. Stopped today at NAPA and no luck.

I did look throught some of the repo cats that I have and didn't see either.

So if anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreicate it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Peter,
Dr. R shows that T-pipe connector as part of his 70-73 EVAP hose kits. He may sell it separately, page 90, part F in the kit.
    Worth a call?
    Regards,

I believe the tee that you're looking for is 3/8" X 3/8" X 1/4" and is of GM #3970076. Unfortunately, that part is GM-discontinued. However, replacements are available under Standard Motor Products #VT-18 or NAPA #CRB 2674. I believe that both of these are exactly the same piece. In configuration, I believe they are virtually identical to the original. However, I think they are made from white nylon rather than black.

        Thanks guys for the responses.

Joe, I appreciate the part numbers and I will give it another shot at NAPA with your part number.

They did have a "one part fits all" plastic "T" that was white and a bit larger that you cut each side to fit the hose going into the fitting.
I hope this part is not the part number you gave me?

Because this was such a difference in color and appearance... I would prefer to continue looking for a better matching replacement.

Anyone else with any suggestions please leave a note.

          Joe,

Started doing some Spring work on my '73 today and decided to give NAPA another try to replace this broken part. Went in with a copy of your response and part numbers and the broken part.

Wow, easy with the NAPA part #!! Gave it to the desk clerk and he went right to the parts bin and asked me how many would I like! I purchased two. The part was just like you said. Exact match, but done in white plastic.

A little black paint and I was back in business.

Thanks for making it so easy for me the second time around.

            Re: LS4 PCV Plastic "T"

After finding the plastic "T" at NAPA with the info. from Joe and putting it on the engine the PCV hose was so bridle from the heat under the hood with the LS4 that the hose would not go over the new "T" very easily. So I put a new hose kit on my list of "Things to Do".

This week I installed the new hose kit from Doc Rebuilt (the first purchase I have ever made from this vendor) and I must say I was very IMPRESSED with the kit!! Hoses, "T" and clamps. Nice parts that were correct and fit well with good instructions too.

I will use him again whenever I need these types of parts.

Thanks guys for all the help. Just thought I would let you know the end result.
