It's the part screwed on the reverse side of the steering wheel , check this guy out it may help

The articles do not address how the cancelling device works . I may be missing a piece. It is the piece that catches the cancelling device protrusion (maybe) I cannot see anything that triggers the cancelling device ---any help or pictures.?? The directional signals worked before I got the car painted. and did not after.--It was put together wrong or a piece is missing.- Top

Thanks for responding guys and thanks for the terrific picture Roy. but-- I still do not understand. there must be something on the back of the steering wheel that engages the cancelling mechanism. I still think I am missing a part. can anyone explain?? thanks- Top

That same cancelling assembly is used on '56-'62 Corvettes, and it's cancelled by two pins pressed into the forward face of the steering wheel hub; with the wheels straight ahead, the pins are at 8 and 10 o'clock as viewed from the driver's seat.- Top
