Re: tail lamp wiring clips
I was reading a recent Thread where a picture of a '64 tail light harness connection was posted, and I remembered your post here. I checked the '64, '65 and '67 AIMs, they all show the rear harness clip (the one on the upper stud in your photo) located on the OUTBOARD tail light for the driver's side, while the harness clip on the passenger side is shown on the INBOARD tail light and noted specifically that it should be on the inboard tail light (on the passenger side) in all three AIMs. For 1965, see UPC 12-C6. Is this something that varied on the production line from car to car, or is it more common to find the harness clips where the AIM shows them?
Also, if you have a photo of the harness clip and wiring connections at the license lamp assembly mentioned above, please post it when you get a chance- Top

Re: tail lamp wiring clips
Scott, apparently the clips used for rear harness tail lights were a little different for 64. Mine look more like those commonly see in the engine compartment. Sorry I do not have any details of the center area at present.
The clips used for 64 are pn3799990, AIM Sec 12 sheetA9.00 for front & Sec 12 sheetC6.00 Both are marked as being "bond"- Top

I see my mistake now, you're right, the rear wiring harness clip changed from GM 3799990 (1963-1964) to GM 3741284 for 1965-1967. The GM 3799990 clip is used at multiple (other) locations from 1963-1967.
Thanks very much for the pictures,
Scott- Top
