Re: OT Airplane Barn Find
My roommate in college (1960) and his Dad had just finished restoring a J-3 Cub, and he and I flew it on Spring Break from Ann Arbor, Michigan to Tucumcari, New Mexico, then to the Piper plant in Vero Beach, Florida, then to the Piper plant (where it was built) in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, then back to Ann Arbor. No radios, iron-compass navigation, wire-on-a-cork fuel gauge, and the 65-hp Continental never missed a beat.
