66 N14 Fiberglass sidepipe cut out help

I am looking for someone to help me with the cutout of the rear fiberglass for the sidespipes. The assembly manual has somewhat of a description but not clear enough. I don't want to make a cut and it be wrong. Can anyone give me a good clear picture or any help on this? Thanks.....

Any cutout you make will be wrong, but if you insist. Here is your picture.

David, there was an article in the Restorer several years ago titled " Characteristics of a real N14 Sidepipe Corvette " by Roger Gibson . ( Don't know the issue). He listed a phone # of 314 264 2022 at the time . This article included a detail of the cuts required front & back including a template . Remember, this would be very difficult to "undo ".......

Thanks for your replying. I am trying to restore a car that had been butchered before I got it. I want to put it back correctly and original as possible.

I agree with Ralph It is very hard to undo. I have a 65 that had sidepipes
that did not belong. it is a automatic 300 h/p i had to also add side rocker moulding brackets that had been cut. very difficult.
if you put sidepipes on you have to cut fiberglass and also the side
          rocker moulding brackets.

This was an original sidepipe car. I am trying to restore it back where someone before me butchered it. Is that wrong?

No you are not wrong if that is what you want and are returning it back
to its original state. That is what i am trying to do with the 1965. It had
sidepipes and they dont belong so i am removing them. going back to
              no sidepipes.

IF you decide to install the sidepipes, you DO NOT have to cut off the rocker molding attachment clips. You will simply have to bend them back towards the frame. We are currently restoring a '65 BB that had side pipes installed back in the early 1980's but was not a true sidepipe car. Fortunately for us the previous owner did not cut these brackets off and only removed the front fiberglass rocker molding brackets. Be sure to save all the fiberglass pieces that you trim off also. If you look real close in the attached photo you can see that the metal rocker molding brackets are not removed, neither is the rear fiberglass rocker molding bracket or the fiberglass overhang at the end of the frame rail. The other photo shows the brackets back in place and the front fiber glass brackets reattached.

                  Regards,

If the car really did have side exhaust originally, then his car will not have the tabs to worry about.

Also realize that judges are well versed in reaching along the body to feel for tabs, tab remnants or bent back tabs. Presence of those would result in a full deduction of the exhaust system in Flight Judging.
