    Rear Spindle Bearing Seals

I am restoring an original 64 Rear Trailing Arm.
The bearing seals that you buy today, are they like the original seals?
See attached picture. Seal has 3 parts, metal ring with 4 tabs, rubber seal, and back metal plate.

No I haven't seen those new in years. The CR seals will work fine though and no one will know otherwise.

The seal you have pictured is a GM #3794002 (if it's the inner seal as it appears to be) or a GM #3794006 (if it's an outer seal). The GM #3794002 was discontinued in 2001. The 3794006 was discontinued in 1984. These are OLD technology seals. The current seals are as follows:

      inner--- CR 16757

      outer----CR 19803

If you buy the GM seals what you get is the CR or National seal in a GM box.

Also to add to what Joe said, the NAPA seals are also CR although they cost more, almost double then the same CR's I get from my industrial supplier. SKF is now the parent company of CR so you will find them in different packaging.

        How's it going Joe?

How's it going? Well, the temperature here was about 60 degrees today with clear blue skies, my health is fine, I've got no debts, at all, and I've got a few bucks in my pocket. So, how could things really be any better?
