    Rare picture...Nassau December 1956

Pictured at the Governors Trophy Race at Nassau, Bahamas Dec. 1956 is the Bill Mitchell SR2 and the sister to my car ( the other Nassau/Daytona/Sebring car ).

The production body 1957 Nassau Corvettes introduced the new Fuel Injection to racing.

They were ordered up from St.Louis to Engineering in Warren, Mi. and fitted and prepared for the Internationally famous Nassau,Bahamas Governors Trophy Race.

Placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in class they represent a rare glimpse at Corvettes factory direct involvement prior to the later 1957 AMA ban on racing that resulted in back door involvement.

    Joe: Thanks.

Your photo would be easier to appreciate if you reduced the size before posting. I recommend you post the reduced size and delete the above version for space saving reasons.

Joe: I noted the dimensions 2261x1690 on the big version. Less than half of that is my recommendation for better viewing.

      Thanks again.

The advantage of the way Joe posted the full size picture is that you can save it to your computer, with all its resolution intact. Then you can view it at whatever size pleases you.

If Joe had reduced the size of the image before putting it on the server, then the inherent resolution of the image would be unavailable to those of us who want a closer look at the details.
