I'm looking at my steering knuckles and one has a part number GM128B and the other is GM129A. They look the same. Posts in the archives have some conflicting information on this. I marked them on removel but then beed blasted off the marks- opps. Does it matter left or right?

The markings that you're referring to are forging die numbers. So, in this case, all they mean is that the steering knuckles were forged from different dies. There were likely several in use at any given time. You should also find the number "3828580" on either knuckle. None of the various 63-82 steering knuckles were side-specific. However, the steering ARMS which are bolted to the steering knuckles ARE side-specific.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
