help identify Engine / head thx

When I purchased my 1964 I was told it had a 365 horse engine.
Not original to car. Should I doubt this if it had a cast iron intake ? number 3866922 cl65
    It does have solid lifters.
(S/n on heads 5782481 Canada )Block has a number by the back of head towards trans. 3858180 CB.16.5.
Any help would be appreciated or point me in the right direction

Block is a Tonawanda block cast February 1, 1965. It is thought that some of these T engines were used as substitutes in the Fall of 1964 but that would NOT apply to a 1964 car.
Check your heads casting # - sounds like it could be 3782461; check the casting dates - these might be original time wise to your car, ala someone replaced the short block and the intake.

Only Corvettes were ever manufactured with a factory-installed 365 hp engine (i.e. L-76). A few 1965 Corvettes may have used Tonawanda-cast blocks of the 3858180 casting number. So, it's POSSIBLE (but very unlikely) that the engine you have is a 365 hp engine originally installed in a 1965 Corvette (the last year to use the L-76 engine). If so, the engine suffix code found stamped on the engine stamp pad will be "HH", "HK", "HL", or "HM". If it has one of these codes, it was originally a 1965 L-76 but could have been later "reconfigured" internally.

If it has any other codes or no code, there's really no way to know what it is without disassembling it and determining just what its internal pieces are.

Thank you . I will look at some of my old photos to confirm numbers . I will also try and find the stampings . When I took the oil pan off it has a two bolt main. not sure if a 365 horse would have a four bolt.

NO 327 cid PRODUCTION Chevrolet engine was EVER originally manufactured with 4 bolt mains----absolutely none. If one finds such an engine, it was converted (which is quite easy for a machine shop to do).

The first use of 4 bolt main configuration for small blocks was the 1969 model year when it was used for 302 cid Z-28 engines as well as all Chevrolet 350 cid engines with 4 barrel carburetors (which, of course, included all 1969 Corvette small blocks).

Looks like a rebuilder's stamp, as the original engine plant machine stamp is gone.
