    75 Roadster

Any 75 roadster owners on here? I've got one I've owned for 30 years that I need to make a decision to restore it or not.

It all depends on how the car has been preserved in the 30 years you've owned it. If it is still presentable and nice, obviously, leave it alone. If it has deteriorated beyond being usable or presentable as is, you might want to restore it.

If it is ALL original and has never been touched, you might want to put it on the judging field to have it studied and judged before you undertake any restoration.

Might post some pictures or a better description for some good advise from the folks around here.

I have one since 1981. Doesn't need restoring. Describe yours.

Very sad. Made the mistake of painting it when I first bought it because of door chips along side and got a terrible paint job with lots of overspray on weatherstripping and interior. Then got a pinhole leak in upper radiator hose while driving and hot antifreeze discolored parts of engine compartment. But by far worst mishap was battery explosion destroyed part of interior after being on trickle charger and I went to start it on New Years Day '98 (best guess is hydrogen gas build-up from battery and as soon as I turned switch on - BOOM - blew part of battery threw soft top, melted carpet, didn't hurt leather, but melted thread in seats). Collected from State Farm and haven't touched it since except to have brakes stainless sleeved.

The old car has 29,900 miles and the original plugs and the only things changed on it are the paint, front shocks and hoses and belts. But it might cost more to make right that it is worth. It is a L-48, 4-speed high optioned (posi, shoulder harness, map light, both tops, white, blue leather, pinstripe whitewalls). There are some other options but I haven't been in it in so long or looked at the title, I don't even remember what it has on it.

Health problems the last few years have distracted me but I'm thinking about making some room in my shop and trying to work on it again.

          LYNN-

The 75's were the last C-3 convertibles and therefore I would believe it would be a nice and wise investment for future use to do a resto and get her back to looking as good as she did in the day.

I have a silver with red interior 75 convertible four speed. I have started to put it back to showroom new. It's not fast but I like the way it drives and it will stay in my collection because it's the last year of the C-3 convertible.
