66 427-390 Carb

Here are two 66 427-390 Holleys. The one on the right has the correct original main body and the one on the left is a service replacement. The original has a questionable front bowl and fuel inlet and the bowl vent is missing. Does anyone have a photo of a correct carb for this car. we can use the replacement for parts

Lucky you, even though one is a service carb, both appear to have the original 66 only base plates with the accelarator pump swiveling in the base, rather than the lever swiveling on a pin threaded into the plate as all 67 on carbs were.

The one on the left looks like it has the correct front bowl for a list 3370 or 3606 (w/AIR). The one on the right looks like it has a generic replacement front bowl.

If you have a 3370 or 3606, the correct holley part number for the front bowl is 34R-5983A. The is the same primary front bowl and plugs assembly used on the 3367, 3605, 3139-1, 3140-1 as well as other 65-66 4160 holleys.

Other parts of the front bowl such as the fuel inlet nut, floats and float screws might be different on the other carbs, but the bowl casting is the same.

Looks like you have the original bowls on the replacement, and the replacement bowls from some other carb on the original. You should be able to swap them, or find the correct bowl for the original. Might be hard to find to buy new but you could scavenge one from one of the list numbers above.
