Pictures of Strut Rods - Please Critique

I tried gun bluing the strut rods for the correct color for my 1970. The bluing is a little spotty.

Well I don't think I will be contacting you anytime soon for any Gunsmithing work. Besides that it looks fine to me.

    Cheers,
    Craig

They are blotchy blue with natural iron showing through. Do I need to blue some more?

Have you ever heated a piece of steel to the point that it blues? That is the color you want. The rods were hot forged

I replaced one back in the 20th century cause it was cracked. Can these be repair welded?

Anything can be welded, but for a part as critical as that is, I would replace it. I guess you could find a certified welder that could properly heat treat the part after welding it might be safe
