    Finally, 56 Sr1 Headed For Judging!!!!!!!

    For those of you who know the issue, you'll understand the significance of this. For those who don't, welllllllllll, this isn't the place for controversy.
    I just got an email from John, and the exact words are: "The 56 SR Corvette #2834 is heading to Florida for flight judging on Saturday".

    I'll be looking forward to hearing all the details.

        I won't be there, so you'll have to depend on others' to take pictures.
        But for now, here is the car at issue.

        I changed my mind. I'm going to make an additional comment.
        It's EXTREMELY unfortunate that the NCRS "Powers to be" chose to disallow this almost one of a kind piece of GENUINE Corvette history from being admitted to the judging field several years ago, thus, depriving a large number of its own members from becoming acquainted with a very significant piece of its own history. Tisk, tisk, tisk. I'm continually amazed with this organization.

            Tom;

            How come the pictures on the web addresses are different? I noticed that because the shot of the engine left side shows the throttle progressive link slack nearly closed, while the ones in your post show it more at ldle. I first looked at them from my E-Mail receipt, then here on you post.

                That's ok. Your comments are safe with me. I see what happened now and I understand. As it is, only us few who posted on your thread got to see your message. My lips are sealed.

                  I stand corrected. Your message did come through after all. However, here are the web addresses that came through on the E-Mail. If you look at them all, you will see what I am referring to. I believe some shots were taken of the engine some time ago and it has been cleaned up since:

                    OK, OK, OK, now I see. That last one was a "whoops"! I inadvertantly included a generator shot of John's 56 Sebring racer. Sorry about that, and as soon as I realized what I'd done, I deleted it.

                      Excuse the ignorance but what is the hose or wire going through the wire guide below the ballast resistor?

                          Bruce,
                          I'm not totally sure which you are referring to, but from what I think you are looking at is either the cable coming off the back of the generator which is a cable that drives the tachometer, or, the black wire coming from the top rear of the valve cover which is a ground wire attached to the valve cover bolt.

                            Tom;
                            In the photo 849jpg, below the ballast resistor on the firewall is a clamp (cad plated?) that has what looks like a hose running through it.
                            That is what I am curious as to what the hose or wire is.

                              Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, interesting. Then why would the current National Judging Chairman send out a letter to the owners of the 56 SR1 cars stating that 7yrs later, they would NOW finally be accepted for judging?
                              Perplexing indeed!
