    T3 Headlight Numbers

Anyone out there know how to decipher the date codes on T3 headlights?

    Thanks

Mark, check the archives. A chart was posted with the codes.

Thanks Harry. I did try and search the info before I posted but did not come up with your fine schematic.

I was surprised to see that there are no date coding references to the small numbers cast into the glass on the front of each bulb. Are these figures just "noise"?

        Mark -

I'd expect that those are mold numbers from the lens-forming process.

I hope this is clear/big enough to read. If I make it larger, it won't upload.

              Hello all

A week or two ago, I asked for help in decoding T3 headlights. Harry Sadlock pointed me towards his snappy schematic. From this I have determined that 3 of 4 T3's in my 65 fuel car are original to the car. The dates are as follows: the two 4002 lamps are 1-20-65 and 1-25-65 and the 4001 lamp is 1-25-65. The cars build date is 2-8-65. I don't know how many of you have seen the ink stamp dates, so as a way to add a little value to the board, I took pictures of the stamps on my lamps. Thanks to all for the help!

              Cheers!

Be careful not to try and clean the back of those original T3's as the ink stamps are fragile and wipe off easily..to be lost for ever. It is nice for you to know that you have the originals to your car.

The schematic provided is a portion of the actual blueprints that were given to me by an engineer at the supplier. They supplied me with both full size and reduced size prints many years ago and a history of the T3's.

I can't remember if I posted the shematic for the earlier big bulbs or not. A project for another day.

                Congrats on your find.

                Joe
