65 race car, anyone know the history?

Ok so here is a 65 425hp coupe for sale here in the Frozen Tundra (MN). Radio delete, side pipe, PAINT DELETE (primer) code JJ. This seems like a pretty rare car. I'm not affiliated with the car in any way, in case anyone is wondering. I just saw it on the web for sale.

Anyone know the history of something like this? Odd that they didn't choose power brakes for a full-on racer like this.

    Chris-

You should take a look at the Corvette Race Car Registry website.

Many C1 and C2 Corvette race cars have lost their race history. If a car has not been restored, you can often find telltale clues - like evidence of a rollbar. And then you use whatever info you have on the car to track down former owners, if possible.

I have a 65 396/425 which came with radio, heater, power windows and side pipes. Many options were not available If you ordered a big block. Just because the car was a radio delete and a primer car does not mean it was part of a race team. In those days most big blocks were ordered with few options in an effort to save weight - as many were used right out of the showroom for street or drag racing. It is a shame that alot of original blocks did not survive the drag racers, it was however great fun and kept most of us out of trouble with the law. I would like to have some of the money I lost picking the wrong car.
By the way If you ordered side pipes the best way to enjoy the radio would be to take it out of the car.

The seller states that the restoration "was done nicely".
If the paint code was "JJ" , Then why was it painted red?

'Read the "Features" section. It includes a sliding rear window, towing pkg, etc. It describes a pick up.

even with the very poor photos there are lots of wrong stuff.
