Were Z06 brakeshoes (stamped steel parts) plated zinc dichromate, or were they oiled steel? I've seen originals that show remnants of zinc/yellow plating, while the aftermarket parts appear to be oiled.
Which is correct?

The 56 build sheets indicate that varnish was used on the stamped brake parts. I do not know if this was used in other years.
