Saw Terry M from Pro-Team there, but didn't see him bidding or buying. The c-3's didn't seem to be far off from the market, but today will be the heavy hitter day and will tell the temperature of the market...the more booze the bidder consumes...the higher the bid...and then there's AMY that helps them hold their hand up too!!

I turned on the TV just as the bidding for this one was ending, so I didn't hear all the specific details about the car, but the plates had "Survivor" and I think a couple comments about it being a survivor were made before it rolled off stage. As I said, I caught the tail end of this one, but I thought the paint and body looked way to good, especially under all those lights for this to be a survivor. The body and paint looked flawless and I don't think they rolled off the line that way in '63. Maybe my definition of survivor is incorrect. Great looking car though.

I too am surprised at some of the prices. To me 98K for a small block coupe is very high. The red/black 350hp car was really nice but 100K plus comm. seems too expensive too. On the flip side it seemed that the early shark cars are not doing too well. Today will be more telling but BJ in my mind is a fluke and while it is a barometer it does not totally represent current market conditions.

I am not that naive enough to actually use the sale price of one 63 on a B-J auction to use as a basis to judge the value up or down or mine. It all comes down to what someone is willing to pay for a given car at a given time. I posted with tongue in cheek just to add some humor to the chat. Besides, I have no intention of selling mine, rather considering what that 63 went for I gested that I should possibly appreciate the value of mine and therefore how hard I drive it.

That so called "survivor" was a bit much. They said it had 76,000 + miles on it, and we all know what can/will happen to any car driven in any manner that far. I have a little over 44.5k on mine and my driver's seat has a couple cracks in it, it's been repainted once in the mid 70's and the front end again when I hit a 250 lb Buck. I once drove off an on ramp backwards and broke the rear spring and cracked a strut, and I also bounced it between a telephone pole and those white posts at an intersection at high speed with just some paint exchange. Sooooo, If you drive them, and I do mine, things will happen sooner or later. I doubt if they put 76k on that car on a chassis dyno.

I my be living in a dream world but most of the buying was not done by dealers that use to buy there.I didn't say the dealers were no selling.I said thy were not buying. Also there were very few nice original high horse cars as in the past. Sellers & buyers of the nice cars staid home. If you think you can double steal cars there you should realize that sellers can buy there cars back & eat the commission.

I believe that Terry M from Proteam bought the yellow big block coupe, NCRS for 130K. Also, that blue 67 300hp had air, ps, pb, pw, headrest but no judging. My friend was there and bid it to 65K and bailed. I can not believe that he got 90K for it either. The Lynndale 350 car, lot 999 was beyond nice from what i hear.. and it was Top Flight with AC.
