    pad thickness,J65 brake shoes

Does anyone know the original thickness of the sintered cerametallic material pads on the shoes? Carbotech has indicated they can install segmented pads but want to know what thickness material to use.
    Thanks, John

Does Carbotech claim to have EPA approval of their material? That's is what killed previous plans/attempts to reproduce Sintered Metallic shoes/material last I knew. Is reason I replaced mine with Matrix Ceramic shoes.

On the surface, this seems like a problem in simple arithmetic: Determine the radius of curvature of the shoe cores and subtract that from the radius of curvature of the resurfaced drums. The difference ought to be pretty much the desired segment thickness. What am I missing here?

I plan to use a different material as well. Mike ( Carbotech) has a couple of materials that will perform as well as the old cerametallic material, but its less heat sensitive.

If we're really talking about J65, (and not J56), this thickness question was discussed a while ago (link) https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...94191&uid=7712

The thread started off on the subject of Z06 then wandered around into J65.

            Here's a shot of NOS front 3794191 J65's.
