Hi E J! I haven't seen one of these in years! A great piece! Thanks for sharing.
I have a similiar piece which is a '56 updated to include the '57. It is from the engineering, signed by Ed Cole, and also dated Jan 1956 (They did not update the date when including the '57 Corvette.) The cover is similiar and includes 283 engine specs at the back of the document. Most of the content was not changed form yours.

Re: 1956 Dealership Product Manual
If I recall correctly there were two versions of the 1956 Engineering Achievements. I have posted pictures of the cover which I believe is the same althought the other version I have has a hint of blue in the background color. This one has a little different page 1 an page 24.- Top

Re: 1956 Dealership Product Manual
Daniel,
Your right, there were two versions, the one that EJ has and yours. EJ's went to the dealers and yours was the Engineering version. I'm pretty sure the covers were the same. I can't read the text on the page 24 that you posted and I don't have mine handy............what does it say?
We actually called them FEATURE BOOKS.

Re: 1956 Dealership Product Manual
Art, Daniel,Steven-Thanks for the info.-Had no idea there is at least 2 versions plus a combined 56-57 version! I would describe mine as kind of a blu-ish gray color.
Regarding the "prototype" jargon-I'm not up to speed on 56's,but I did notice a few statements that are revelations to me,or more likely, prouction changes. A couple of items in the accessories text,(page 20),I'm definitely unsure of-
"An outside air type heater will replace the recirculating type shortly after start of production", and-
"Dealer installed gray nylon seat belts, chrome plated buckle"
Oh- In the engine section (pg. 12)-
Continued without change for 1956 are the engine mounts,a high lift camshaft, mechanical type valve tappets....
Great manual, though, with excel.drwngs. and text-thanks again for the info.-E.J.- Top

Was it an original or a repro that you got on ebaby and would you mind telling us what it went for?- Top

Re: 1956 Dealership Product Manual
I`m guessing it was a reproduction as I paid around $40 for it. I later saw another listed which went for less. The quality of the item is very good.
There`s one currently listed on eBay.- Top
