Re: 64 half shafts french locks
But I'm not that familiar with '63-4, and seems to me that this lock is different than '65-up. Checked my '65 AIM [says part # 3860543] The P&A30 Rev July '65 catalog gives same number for '63 thru '65 with description "LOCK, yoke flange bolt (round bridge)".
So you guys with '63-4 AIM's, was there an earlier # for this lock shown in the pics above ? [Ref UPC 4, Sht A2, in the '65 AIM].Attached FilesLast edited by Wayne M.; January 14, 2009, 03:44 PM.- Top

Re: 64 half shafts french locks
The 64 AIM shows that the 3860543 was changed under NPC 33A (ECR 60587) on 12/27/63. The lock you show in your picture is what was on mine, Mar64 car. The locks shown in the AIM look closer to the later locks and the drawing was also revised on that date.
Assume the 3860543 is the newer lock that one sees in the repo catalogs?
Good question for the 63 guys.- Top

Re: 64 half shafts french locks
Jim's pic got me looking at a Jan/Feb '64 rear suspension I have. Agree with the inboard bend for the 'bridge', which my pic seems to confirm.
