I just took the spare tire out of my 67 coupe, December build car. I recently purchased the car from the prior owner of almost 20 years. I have never seen a tire with 2 white stripes. Anyone ever seen one like this? Let me know if you know anything about this. Thanks and Happy New Year. It is an El Dorado, "High Performanec Mileage" tire. Stamped CKMF K80M. Size is F78 15. Ara

Ara,
back in the later 60's and 70's the were many configurations of white wall tires and colors of the side walls ,your tire is from that era. f78-15 is way they measured tires during that era.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Appreciate the replies. I didn't think there was a way on Earth it was original, but I had never seen one before - meaning a tire with 2 separate white stripes. Thanks for the insight.- Top

I bought 2 new front tires for my 62 Ford 406. They were high dollar at the time and had 2 seperate narrow white walls. I can't recall the name of the company that made them but they replaced the two original 7.10x15 Firestone 500's that wore down quickly. It was a deeper tread. If I recall the name I will post it.
