    Signal flasher

I've further dismantled my under dash area today and one of the things I encountered was the signal flasher. Could this be correct for my LATE '63. '64 cars with backup lights could have a blue metal 224 Tung Sol stated by the (new) tech. manual...

I just want to be sure I'm not discarding any original parts!

    regards,
    Rob

    Re: Signal flasher

I've often wondered why the '63-64 JG book doesn't provide a TS flasher table for '63 cars equipped with T86 backup lamps... But, the addition of that option DID reduce the lamp load count from three to two lamps and the non-DOT Tung Sol 224 flasher in the blue metal case is one of two flashers considered correct for '64-65 Corvettes with backup lamps...

Rob - The T/S 224 flasher you show is not original to your late 63 because the flasher shown was manufactured in the in the 70s because the leg connectors have the hole in them. On T/S 224 flashers manufactured in the mid to late 60s, the leg connectors were solid, i.e. w/o the hole. Pete

Does anyone know if the 224 flashers are dated? Sincerely Brian

Brian -- here's a link to an earlier thread where Pete Lindahl analyzed the date on my "224". (includes pics)
