    Job number on fan shroud

Today I was sanding my '63 fan shroud when I found these crayon marks on the shroud. I haven't read before something was written here?

It appears to be a 3 digit number (682?). I suspect the factory job number. Did anyone else experience numbers on their fan shroud???

    regards,
    Rob.

    Rob,

I would guess that the number you found is a dealer "stock number" that would have been added when the car was delivered to the dealer. It was a very common practice in the 60's.

      Rob,

Look in the normal places for the job number, behind door panels, gas tank area, right hand firewall below the heater and behind the dash to see if it matches.

I'm with Michael thinking that the number is not related to the sequence job number, but you never know until you check it out.

        Micheal,

I looks like you are right that this is not the job number. I've crawled under my lifted body today and found this 184 number on the panel which is normally hidden by the gastank.

        greetings,
        Rob.
