    57 Solenoid Question

Does anyone know what the coil impedance of a starter solenoid (p/n 1119919) should be? I would like to check mine but I don't know what the value should be.

    Thanks,

    Ashley

    Re: 57 Solenoid Question

    Ashley,

If I remember I will try to look that up for you tonight. I have some old Delco repair manuals that may list that info.

I say remember because I will be watching my Alma Mater play in the BCS game tonight. I tend to get a rabid look during those big games, especially if they are losing. My wife and kids stay away. Go Gators!

      Thanks Mike,
This relates to my earlier post that you replied to about the overcurrent protection. I really appreciate your help.

PS. I'm an Auburn Tiger, so I'll be pulling for the Gators tonight too.

        Ashley,

I looked up your solenoid part number 1119919 in my vintage 1957-1959 Delco Remy test specifications book.

Unfortunately it does not list impedence as a test spec. Here is what is provided:

        Current consumption of both windings: 42 - 49 amps @10 volts. Hold-in winding 10.5 - 12.5 amps @10 volts.

        Hope this helps.

It's 7:30... off to watch the pre game hype!

        Mike
