    57 fuel injection Powerglide linkage

One last piece of the puzzle is to determine the lenght of upper kickdown rod pn 3741770, also referred to as rod "E" in the assy manual.
Since the rod has a adjustable swivel I would like to know the total length.
Once I get this under control hopefully I will be done with the mechanical end of the restoration.

If you have a service manual for the pass car with PG, it is described there, it's not given a dimension, just a process for making sure the detents are in the correct place and the linkage does not bind either at idle or at full throttle. The AIM also has a pretty good description of the dajustment process on Sheet5.00 of RPO 313 section. They refer to the use of a gauge, but if the instructions are followed and no bind is evident, the gauge is not required.

Disconnect the rod "E" then hold the gas throttle rod wide open and then adjust the kick down rod "E" to fit the hole

Bruce, None of us could ever find the info on that rod. Except for the pics in the AIMs and that's about it. I tried to get a print of it but gave up. Good luck, John

            John, thanks for the effort.
I thought I might find one at a swap meet but I wanted a length so I would know what I was looking for.
I will use the AIM adjusting instructions and try and determine the length.
Thanks again to you, Roy and Bill C.

When you do what I posted then you can cut a rod or find the length you need on the (E) rod
