    '67 EVAP Housing Paint Color

    Guys,

Are these housing normally painted semi-gloss or flat black?

I'm cleaning up one and it's painted a semi-gloss to gloss black, and I don't think it's correct.

So far, I'm leaning towards flat-black, like the firewall and fenders.

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Bob

    Bob,
It has been almost 7 hours since you posted and no one has responded, so I am going to ask a dumb question...........What is a EVAP housing?

The last car with factory Air ('66) I restored had a semi gloss black Evaporator Housing.

Robert, they were semi-gloss black, installed well after the blackout process.

The housing that holds your EVAPORATOR for the air conditioning.

          Up by the heater code........

In fact based on the original '65 I owned the paint was more glossy that most people would envision with the description of "semi Gloss"

I ended up using SEM Trim Paint (39143) that looks to have the right gloss.

I actually just sprayed it a few minutes ago and will report back after it dries and I look at it in the engine compartment.

I agree with Wm Clupper. Shade should be a little more to the glossy side and should have more gloss than the blackout on the firewall and inter fenders.
