    Wiper Motor

Does the wiper motor have anything to do the squirters not working? (54) Have had everything apart, hoses, jar, but motor, and all seem to be fine, what in the jar would I check, had it apart and all parts look like new, what in the motor would I do if that is a possability. It worked fine before car went in for paint but the only thing done their would be the switch taken off the dash and left behind dash for paint then put back? Is their a good diagrahm or explanation on how this system works? Thanks Brad

Check the "plumbing" on the back of the switch. Vacuum lines go to the switch on '54.

Chuck, yes the hoses are plugged in to the switch and I have even tried revearsing them to see if this helped but it did not. Brad

Do the wipers work? If they don't then the issue is a lack of vacuum, although nothing in your paint job should have caused this. If this is the problem then see if your vacuum pump on the bottom of the fuel pump is doing it's job. Check all vacuum hoses for leaks in the hose and at fittings.

You should be able to test your washer pump using a hand held vacuum pump. Check the inlet at the bottom of the washer pump and the fitting on top of the jar to be sure neither is clogged. Some times the NOS water has gunk in it.

Troy, would the spring that holds the two pump pieces together cause a vacc problem, I noticed the spring was loose only holding one side tight giving from the front view a crooked look, so I snapped the spring under the flange like it"s supposed to be and put back together, haven't started up yet to check but maybe with spring only doing half it's job it might be sucking air? Thanks Brad
