Any Historically Significant Corvette Rally Cars?

Does any one know of any significant corvette rally cars that might have competed in some of the major rally events of europe during the 50's and 60's?

On another note has anyone here participated in any of the current vintage rally events here in the US that seem to be gaining in popularity, ie colorado grand, california melee, carolina trophy? What was your experience? Seems like a great way to enjoy an old car.

"Available" Jones Rallied a Corvette in the 60's in the SCCA. Not the all out race rally, but the TSD type. He later went on to win the overall SCCA championship in a Factory backed Mustang

I have also rallied my 63 Roadster in a half dozen historic rallyes here in AZ. It is a blast. Placed 3rd twice (once solo)

I have a friend who participated with his vintage Ferrari in the Colorado Grand and one who entered a '62 in California a number of years ago. Both are repeat entrants and said they had a blast.

What is the difference between a Rally prepped car and a Canyon racer. I have a Danbury mint model of a C-2 Canyon racer, but have yet to learn what that is all about.

P.S. Love that rally 63 cockpit photo. Really cool.

Stu, a friend who supposedly built a canyon racer, or built a supposed canyon racer, set his up to take curves in the mountains outside LA and put a bunch of HP in it. It is a hot rod that handles. The rally cars I have seen, and I used to have a Datsun 1600 roadster set up for SCCA rallye, had some mods. but more navigation aids and for night some strong road/driving lights. The all out rally cars in WRC are high on mods. and HP and set up for all surfaces of roads, paved, gravel---and also include navigation, lighting, etc. They are all out race cars (WRC)
