    69 ? NOS Seat covers

    Hello Friends,
I have a pair of black upper and lower NOS seat covers still in the GM boxes. They are 2 different part numbers and the pattern is different. I'm pretty sure one set is for a 69, but believe the other set is for an early 70's Corvette. Can anyone identify by part numbers ?
The part numbers are 3913105 and 3977813.
    Thanks,
    Danny Watkins

GM #3913105 is the black vinyl seat cushion trim applicable to 1968 Corvettes. It was also SERVICE for 1969 Corvettes. That seems strange to me, though, since the 1968 insert material was a "basket weave" whereas the 69 insert material for all but very early cars was the much finer-grained "comfort weave (this insert material was also used for 70-76 with vinyl). Which insert material does your 3913105 have?

The GM #3977813 was the black vinyl seat back trim for 1971-72 Corvettes. It MAY also have been used for 1970, but I come up with a different number for 1970. It will definitely have the "comfort weave" insert material.

      Hi Danny,
It sounds like you have an interesting find.
I'm curious about the condition of the thin foam sheet that was sewn into the individual pleats. The foam in my 71 covers has turned to the consistency of saw-dust.
What's it like in your unused covers? Thanks very much.
      Regards,
      Alan

        Hey Joe,
Thank you very much for the assistance. To answer your question, the 105's have the finer grained comfort weave. So the uppers don't actually match the lowers.

          Hey Alan,
These are very much like new. The foam is very nice & soft.
          Thank You...

In that case, the insert material on the GM #3913105 must have changed at some point without a change in part number.
