Low fuel light question -1982

I am getting my 1982 ready for performance verification in April 2009.
I need to know how the low fuel system works. I know that the unit lights when the fuel is low.
What I need to know is when the ignition key is first turned on does this low fuel indicator lamp light for a few seconds before starting the engine.

In 78, it does not come on as part of the console light check. I suspect this is due to the "Low Fuel" warning light is a member of the ZX2 convenience group and therefore not wired into the check group. Don't recall when checking 82's that that changed.

Thanks Tom, I have asked several 82 owners (via the web) to check their low light indicator and I haven't found anyone that can confirm their light comes on when turning on the ignition.

Try contacting the 1978-82 National Team Leader -- Brian Pearce. His contact information is available from the radio button at the top of this page, the one labeled "CONTACTS" You will have to page down on the page that comes up to find the list of Team Leaders. phillip, i have a 82 ce, no it does not come on when you turn on the key only when you you have about 2 gal left in the tank.
